United Health Centres Cardio Lab provides cardiac diagnostic testing to support the assessment, monitoring, and ongoing care of patients with known or suspected heart conditions.
Our CardioLab offers:
- Electrocardiograms (ECG)
- Echocardiograms (Echo)
- Cardiology consultations by referral
All services require a referral from a physician or authorized healthcare provider.

ECG
An electrocardiogram, commonly known as an ECG, records the electrical activity of the heart.
An ECG may be requested to help assess:
- Irregular heart rhythms
- Palpitations
- Chest discomfort
- Dizziness or fainting
- Shortness of breath
- Heart rate abnormalities
- Changes in heart function
The test is non-invasive and is completed using small electrodes placed on the chest, arms, and legs.
Echocardiogram
An echocardiogram, also known as an Echo, uses ultrasound technology to create images of the heart.
This test allows the healthcare team to assess:
- Heart structure and function
- Heart valves
- Heart chamber size
- Heart muscle movement
- Blood flow through the heart
- Overall cardiac performance
An echocardiogram is non-invasive and does not use radiation. It is non-invasive and does not use radiation.

How will I receive my results?
Results are sent to the healthcare provider who submitted the referral. Your referring provider will review the results with you and discuss any recommended next steps.
Can I book a cardiology consultation directly?
A referral is required. Please ask your physician or healthcare provider to complete the Cardiology Consultation Referral Form.
