Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced and dedicated General Surgeon to join our growing team. The ideal candidate is skilled in providing comprehensive surgical consultations, minor procedures, and follow-up care within an outpatient clinic setting. This role is supported by a strong administrative and clinical team, allowing you to focus on patient care and surgical excellence.

Responsibilities

  • Provide consultations, assessments, and management for a wide range of general surgical conditions
  • Perform minor surgical procedures and in-office treatments as appropriate
  • Collaborate with primary care physicians and interdisciplinary team members to ensure coordinated patient care
  • Request and interpret diagnostic imaging, laboratory tests, and specialist reports
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation within the EMR (Med Access)
  • Provide pre-operative and post-operative counselling for patients as required
  • Participate in quality improvement, patient safety initiatives, and clinic best-practices
  • Contribute to a respectful, collaborative, and patient-focused care environment

Requirements

  • Medical Degree (MD) and completion of a Royal College–certified General Surgery residency program
  • Active license (or eligibility for licensure) with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta (CPSA)
  • CMPA coverage in good standing
  • Strong clinical decision-making, procedural skills, and diagnostic acumen
  • Excellent communication skills and a commitment to compassionate, patient-centred care
  • Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary clinic
  • Experience with EMR systems (Med Access preferred)
